We are looking for a MS SQL Database Administrator for our Keyrus International team. 

We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish & English) Senior Microsoft SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and secure our SQL Server database environments. This role requires strong technical expertise in database administration, performance tuning, and high availability solutions. Additionally, project management experience is preferred, as you will be involved in planning and executing database-related initiatives. Clear communication skills are essential, as this role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders!🚀

What will your day-to-day be like?

• Database Administration: Install, configure, and manage Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing strategies, and storage optimization.
• Backup & Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, manage access controls, and ensure databases comply with industry standards and regulations.
• High Availability & Replication: Design and implement solutions for high availability, clustering, and replication (Always On, Log Shipping, Mirroring, etc.)
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, T-SQL, or other scripting languages to streamline database administration tasks.
• Capacity Planning & Scaling: Monitor database growth, plan for capacity, and optimize database performance for scalability.
• Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Identify, diagnose, and resolve database-related performance and operational issues efficiently.
• Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and stakeholders to optimize database design and integration. Document processes, configurations, and best practices.
• Cloud & Hybrid Integration: Manage and optimize cloud-based SQL Server instances (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or hybrid setups)
• Project Management (Preferred): Assist in planning, executing, and managing database-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.

Do you have what we are looking for? 

We are excited to meet you if: 

• 8+ years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.
• Expertise in SQL Server versions (2016, 2019, 2022, or later) and cloud-based database solutions.
• Strong understanding of database design, indexing, partitioning, and normalization.
• Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, execution plans, and deadlock analysis.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server clustering, Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, and Replication.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL scripting, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
• Experience with SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and database integration services.
• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or hybrid cloud deployments).
• Strong background in backup and recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and failover testing.
• Experience working with security best practices, encryption, and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC2).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Project management experience (leading database-related projects, migrations, or upgrades)
• Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or MCSA: SQL Server.
• Experience with NoSQL, Big Data, or other modern database technologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline integration for database deployments.
• Experience in working with Power BI, data warehousing, and analytics.
